‘BLACK NATIVITY” – MUSICAL – DECEMBER 2nd, 8th & 9th 2017

The "Black Nativity" originated in 1961 and was performed Off-Broadway by Langston Hughes. The modified celebration of the birth of Jesus exhibits more than just another Christmas production. This illustrious story is filled with joyfulness as it expresses one of the Bible’s most prevailing narratives that took place in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. The spirited performance is presented with a taste of African American flavor.  “Black Nativity” articulates not only the story of Jesus’ birth, but also the splendiferous sound of Gospel music! The production is a commemoration of how many celebrate the amazing story Jesus being born of the Virgin Mary both nationally and internationally. The “Black Nativity” is a recurring favorite and CBTC is elated to feature a new exhilarating and diverse show each and every year. The production is filled with impactful sounds of music, praise and worship, song and dance, bursts of energetic, astounding costuming, and prophetic storytelling!
